New Eastern has been making bak kwa the good old way since the good old days, and today, we continue to keep the best of traditional taste alive with every piece of bak kwa we make. We first opened for business in 1968, quickly winning over a strong following with bak kwa that's made only from high quality fresh pork and grilled to perfection. With business booming, New Eastern shifted into a newly acquired shophouse in 1975, consolidating our retail and manufacturing activities under one roof.
Since then, New Eastern has focused on growing its core business, the manufacturing and supplying of bak kwa to other retailers who sell our products under their own brand name. Business continued to grow at a brisk pace, and in 2005, to meet the overwhelming demand, New Eastern set up its very own factory in Gourmet East Kitchen (Bedok). With these new, larger and better-equipped premises, New Eastern was able to enhance its operations to meet the increasing demand for our bak kwa, while maintaining the same high standards in taste and quality.
Today, New Eastern continues to provide our expanding network of retailers with the finest raw bak kwa available. In order to also satisfy the many retail customers who wish to purchase our products directly and more conveniently, we are also injecting our resources and expertise into developing an online retail business.
Times may have changed, but you can trust New Eastern to keep to the same traditional recipe of making thin, tender charcoal-grilled bak kwa – because this is the taste that everyone loves, then, now and always.
